
HE the Governor, in consultation with the Judicial Service Commission, has appointed Ms. Rachel Spearing KC as Attorney General of Anguilla. Ms. Spearing will assume the role in late January 2026.
Ms. Spearing brings a wealth of senior experience prosecuting serious and organised crime, advising on public law, data and information rights and regulatory issues. She is a qualified mediator and sits as a Regulatory & Disciplinary Judge and part-time as a Coroner. Her international experience, including work in the Caribbean, West Africa, and Singapore.
Ms. Spearing is also recognised for her expertise in disaster aftermath management, particularly in relation to maritime incidents. She has advised the UK National Health Service, police forces, and prison services. She has participated in inquiries concerning education and psychiatric care and is highly regarded for her knowledge of good governance within the public sector.

I look forward to serving the people of Anguilla and supporting the Government in upholding the rule of law, promoting good governance, and ensuring justice is delivered with integrity and fairness.”
