Liberty Credit Union has earned regional recognition after receiving two awards at the Caribbean Confederation of Credit Unions (CCCU) Convention 2026, held from June 19 to 24. Held at the Wyndham Grand Barbados, Sam Lords Castle, the theme of the convention was: “People, Purpose, Prosperity: The Heart of Member Development”.
A delegation of 13 representatives from Anguilla attended the annual convention, joining credit union professionals from across the Caribbean for a week of networking, professional development and discussions on issues affecting the cooperative financial sector.
During the convention, Liberty Co-operative Credit Union was recognised for achieving the Highest Asset Growth and Highest Membership Growth among Caribbean credit unions with fewer than 20,000 members for its 2025 performance.
The awards mark the second consecutive year that Liberty Credit Union has received both honours, reflecting the institution’s continued growth and expanding membership.
The delegation’s participation also provided an opportunity to exchange ideas and best practices with representatives from other Caribbean credit unions while strengthening regional relationships.
Liberty Credit Union stated: “We were pleased to represent Anguilla on a regional scale.” The credit union also expressed appreciation to its members for their ongoing support, noting that the achievements reflect the collective efforts of everyone who has contributed to the institution’s success.
The Caribbean Confederation of Credit Unions Convention brings together credit union leaders and professionals from across the region each year to promote collaboration, share knowledge and recognise excellence within the movement.
