After days of anticipation, the long-awaited B Class boat race of this year’s Festival Del Mar finally came to life on Saturday, 11th April 2026, delivering the kind of excitement that reiterated why the tradition remains such a cherished part of Anguilla’s cultural calendar.

Originally postponed during the Easter Festival Del Mar celebrations due to unfavourable weather, the race found its moment under far more forgiving weather conditions. The conditions proved ideal — a gentle breeze, clear waters, and sunshine that drew boat racing enthusiasts back to the shoreline.

Five vessels — DeStorm, Stay Up, F5 Tornado, Legal Rights, and Upsetter — returned to the water for a fierce competition. Sails whipped against the wind as the boats cut across the water in a display of skill, strategy, and endurance.

In the end, it was Upsetter that claimed first place, navigating the course with precision and consistency. Close behind was Stay Up, securing second place. Legal Rights followed in third, while F5 Tornado and DeStorm rounded out the standings in fourth and fifth positions respectively.

Attention now turns to the A Class Boat Race, which was also previously postponed due to inclement weather. That event is scheduled for Sunday, 19th April 2026.
