A Programme organised and facilitated by the Anguilla Youth Business Foundation (AYBF) for secondary students

Students and facilitators at the ALHCS WISE Enterprise Development Training Programme

Over the course of eight weeks, Forms 4 and 5 students from [the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School] ALHCS WISE Education participated in the ALHCS WISE Enterprise Development Training Programme, organized and facilitated by the Anguilla Youth Business Foundation (AYBF). This hands-on programme equipped students with essential business skills and boosted their entrepreneurial confidence through thorough teaching, engaging activities, and supportive coaching.

The journey began in week one with an introduction to business basics, where students explored the question, “What do I want to sell?” Through icebreakers and visual aids, they learned about different types of businesses and participated in fun activities like the “Business Idea Match.”

As the programme progressed into weeks two and three, students understood what they needed to start a business, including money, materials, and customers. They enjoyed practical activities to identify their business needs and created lists to outline their own entrepreneurial aspirations.

In weeks four and five, students developed their products and services, crafting prototypes and bringing their ideas to life. The excitement continued as they learned marketing basics, creating promotional materials to tell others about their businesses.

They then learned the key components of a business plan and worked on their simple business model canvas. In week six, the culmination of their hard work was showcased as students presented their simple Business Model Canvases. In week seven, students built their own simple business model canvases in a practical class session with great enthusiasm.

The programme concluded in week eight with practical learning on the Building Blocks of Financial Literacy, where students learned how to produce a simple business financial plan.

On March 10th, 2026, the Anguilla Youth Business Foundation awarded these successful students in a memorable certificate award ceremony and looks forward to supporting their entrepreneurial journey as they transition from teenpreneurs to youth entrepreneurs upon graduating high school.

Congratulations to all our students!
