Shoal Bay East shimmered with elegance and excitement on Saturday, 1st November 2025, as The Manoah Boutique Hotel hosted a cocktail party and open house to celebrate its grand reopening under new management and fresh concepts. The evening marked a significant milestone for Anguilla’s tourism sector, coming just as the 2025–2026 tourism season gets underway.
Among the distinguished guests in attendance were Her Excellency the Governor Julia Crouch, Hon. Premier Cora Richardson-Hodge, Hon. Minister Shellya Rogers-Webster, and former Minister Dee-Ann Kentish-Rogers, alongside several media partners, creatives, and professionals from across the island. The event created an atmosphere of community pride and anticipation for what promises to be a new chapter in Anguilla’s luxury hospitality scene.
Originally opened in December 2016, The Manoah Boutique Hotel has long been recognised as a chic beachfront retreat on one of the island’s most iconic stretches of sand — Shoal Bay East. Known for its blend of Caribbean charm and modern sophistication, the property’s transformation brings with it a renewed sense of purpose and refinement.
The reopening introduces several exciting developments, including L’Étoile, a new fine-dining restaurant led by Consulting Chef Didier Aniès, a Meilleur Ouvrier de France — a prestigious title bestowed upon France’s most skilled craftsmen. The restaurant aims to elevate Anguilla’s culinary offerings through an artistic approach to French cuisine. Alongside L’Étoile, guests can also experience Red Sun, an innovative juice bar featuring fresh creations, delightful delicacies, and a small boutique.
Speaking to guests at the event, General Manager Etiennette Clamouze expressed gratitude and a deep personal connection to Anguilla. Clamouze went on to share her story of how her journey with The Manoah began more than a decade ago. “I discovered Anguilla 12 years ago because of The Manoah Boutique Hotel actually. I was the hotel manager in Paris and I had a friend who told me, ‘Oh, I have a friend, he bought a little something on a little island. You guys should meet.’ I came on vacation to St. Martin, took a day trip here, and fell in love with Anguilla,” she recalled.
Her speech resonated with warmth and optimism as she spoke of her return to the island to lead the hotel’s revival. “We have a beautiful beach with new cabanas. We’re going to do day-trippers and day passes, and we want to see you again.”
The Manoah’s comprehensive transformation extends beyond aesthetics. It includes a complete renewal of its product and services, from designer furniture and luxury linens to the introduction of an ultra-personalised Star Service model, curated to deliver bespoke luxury experiences for each guest. The resort has also enhanced its leisure areas, offering sophisticated poolside ambience, luxurious beach cabanas, and subtle live entertainment on select evenings.
Chef Didier Aniès, whose culinary artistry took centre stage during the evening, has collaborated with Clamouze for over two decades, tracing their professional partnership back to their time in Paris. Guests had the opportunity to savour his creations – a reflection of refined French gastronomy fused with Caribbean charm – symbolic of the hotel’s new identity.
“This is what we’re trying to present tonight,” said Clamouze. “A level of service and dining that matches the natural beauty of this island.”
As glasses clinked and conversations flowed under the soft glow of Shoal Bay’s sunset, it was clear that The Manoah Boutique Hotel had not only reopened its doors but also reignited its spirit. The event underscored the importance of continued investment in Anguilla’s tourism landscape — an industry that remains the lifeblood of the island’s economy.
