Thousands of people in the USA will have learnt more about Anguilla after listening into a live broadcast of the “Michigan’s Big Show” – starring Michael Patrick Sheils – from CuisinArt Golf Club on November 7th.
Michael Patrick Sheils is a popular broadcaster/journalist and his lively morning show is syndicated throughout Michigan. He was joined at the live broadcast by Larry Olmsted, an extremely influential travel/golf/food writer. Mr Olmstead writes for Golf Magazine, USA Today, Cigar Aficionado and many other publications. Both Journalists were here to sample the delights of CuisinArt Golf Resort & Spa and had enjoyed playing a Round of Golf with resident Pro Ryan Bowey, Treatments at the stunning Venus Spa and a range of culinary treats including a special Chef’s Table with CuisinArt’s new Executive Chef, Jasper Schneider. They also spent an evening at the Dune Preserve. During the lively broadcast they spoke with the resorts General Manager, Stephane Zaharia and Food and Beverage Director, Fabio Petrone, covering a wide range of subjects including; how to plan a holiday to Anguilla, the famous Jimmy Buffet/Bankie Banks concert and the famous guests the island attracts. Mr Zaharia and Mr Petrone shared interesting anecdotes about the Hotel and their many years in the hospitality industry.
Both journalist were first time visitors to Anguilla and when asked about their impressions of the island Mr Sheils said it was “eye candy” and “instantly relaxing” and Mr Olmstead said “I’d always been interested in Anguilla’s Greg Norman Golf Course as there is not a lot of golf in the region… so when CuisinArt Golf Resort & Spa took it over and offered a great course and the opportunity to stay at a full service resort with a focus on food I knew it would be a great mix for the Caribbean and it was time to visit”.
