As part of activities commemorating Anguilla Day 2026, the Ebenezer Women’s Circle hosted an inspiring evening of history and culture on Thursday, 28th May. Under the theme, “Ole Time Ting: Sweet Anguilla Memories – Then & Now,” the gathering brought together multiple generations in celebration of Anguilla’s rich heritage through storytelling, personal reflections, spoken word, drama, music and traditional Anguillian cuisine.

The evening beautifully reflected the spirit of the 59th Anguilla Day theme, “Empowered by Yesterday’s Legacy, Inspired by Tomorrow’s Promise,” as participants revisited treasured memories, honoured the resilience and contributions of those who came before, and encouraged younger generations to embrace and preserve the values, traditions and cultural identity that continue to shape Anguilla’s future.
Special highlights of the evening included engaging presentations and performances by Sharleen Gumbs, Tashanta Brooks, Brenda Proctor, Farrah Banks, Nialah Gumbs, Khalidah Banks-Harrigan, Vernette Richardson, Evalie Bradley (“Aunt Dinah”), Kenn Banks, Derek Gumbs, Claudel Romney and Carl Harrigan, whose contributions both educated and entertained the audience.
The Ebenezer Women’s Circle extends its warmest appreciation to all attendees and contributors whose participation helped to make the evening such a memorable celebration of Anguillian culture and heritage.
