KCN CEO/Executive Producer made Presentation at UNDRR Media Training

The United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) Regional Office, for the Americas and the Caribbean, invited Mr. Carlton Pickering Sr. CEO /Executive Producer to take part as a guest speaker in the media training session held on 2nd November within the VII Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction on the Americas and the Caribbean, “Building Resilient Economies,” that was held virtually from 1st to 4th of November 2021.

The media training session on 2nd November was under the theme, ‘The role of Media saving lives’.

Mr Pickering was asked specifically to share his experience with Hurricane ‘IRMA’, with other media colleagues on the rebuilding among other things, as KCN celebrates 25 years as a media house here in Anguilla.

Media training is one of the main strategies used by UNDRR to promote social and public consciousness of the importance of disaster risk reduction in the Americas and the Caribbean, which is especially important for developing economies and Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
