The Late Royal Highness, The
Prince Philip

A 21-gun salute, on the premises of the Government House, at Old Ta, where the Governor formerly resided, was part of an official tribute in Anguilla on Saturday, April 10, 2021, to mark the passing of His Royal Highness, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. He passed away at Windsor Castle in London on Friday, April 9, at the age of 99.

The gun salute was done by a contingent of the Royal Anguilla Police Force. Among those present at the brief ceremony, were Her Excellency, the Governor, Ms. Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam; Premier Dr. Ellis Lorenzo Webster; Deputy Governor, Mr. Perin Bradley and other officials from the Governor’s Office; Resident High Court Judge, Justice Shawn Innocent; the Speaker of the Anguilla House of Assembly, Mrs. Barbara Webster-Bourne; the Leader of the Opposition, Mrs. Cora Richardson-Hodge; Attorney General, Mr. Dwight Horsford; Commissioner of Police, Mr. David Lynch; and the Rt. Rev. Errol Brooks, who delivered the Invocation.

There were Messages of Condolences by Governor Daniel-Selvaratnam and Premier Dr. Webster. The Prayer and the Messages, as well as a release from the Governor’s Office on the details of the funeral of Prince Philip, are printed elsewhere in this edition of The Anguillian newspaper.
