Through persistence, hard work, determination and constant commitment from the players and coaching staff over the past couple years, De Youngsters FC have eventually captured the 2018 Sunset Homes sponsored Female Football league championship Title.
In an impressive display of strength and resilience, to close out the season, De Youngsters FC defeated Shining Stars FC, 5 goals to 1, on Sunday 15 July, to secure the league’s championship. Adriana Connor of De Youngsters, who did outstanding work in attack and was named player of the game, scored 4 goals, while Hakeera Brooks scored one from long range. De Youngsters’ coach, Girdon Connor, said: “I wish to say congratulations to the team again on an amazing season. For me, it was not simply winning the title but the way it was done. I was truly impressed with the quality of play, maturity and growth of many players and the team. I may not be hopping and jumping around with excitement, but inside it means a lot to me. As a team, the work was put in and the results proved which team was the best this year.”
He urged his players to remain humble and to work even harder next season; to enjoy the feeling of being a champion; and to begin the work to repeat their championship next year.

Team’s captain, Sharice Richardson, observed that she was very proud of her players, and thanked the coaching staff and management, along with the parents and supporters, who closely stood by and supported the Club over the years.

This was the first ever championship win for De Youngsters FC.
