EASTER MONDAY BOAT RACE

Some 13 boats participated in the Easter Monday race from  Road Bay (Sandy Ground) to Sandy Hill and back, a distance covered between eight and nine hours.

During the event,RoadBaywas virtually deserted except for groups of young swimmers who wanted to escape the sweltering heat. The majority of the boat-racing fans left the area to follow the race at various vantage sites up and down the southern coast of the island.

The event was part of a series of boat races for the Easter holiday season inAnguilla.
