From the 3rd – 5th April 2013, Anguilla experienced a series of spiritual meetings that united churches from all over the island and brought a spirit of praise and worship that surpassed expectations. The three-day “Catapulted Beyond” Conference promised to move us past our present circumstances and limitations – to a place where we become “Kingdom-minded” – looking beyond our church walls to realise the possibilities that exist to live positive, empowered and fruitful lives right now as a united community. This conference was spearheaded by the Apostolic Faith Church – and led by Pastor Leslie Richardson and his team – and featured Apostle B Dwayne Hardin of Atlanta, USA, as the visiting speaker.
Apostle Hardin is a public speaker, author, songwriter and musician. He is the founder of The Embassy and The Millennium Masters Inc. both presently based in Atlanta, GA. He played his first instrument at the age of 3, wrote his first song around age 6 and preached his first message at the age of 10. Apostle Hardin travels the globe extensively and has been called to minister by Trinity Broadcasting Network, among others across the United States and the world.
Each night, hundreds of people flocked to the JC Recreational Centre (JCRC) in South Hill to unite in worship and praise to God, and receive inspiration and encouragement from Apostle Hardin whose themes – of unity, powerful faith, victory and abundant living in the here and now – resonated with those that attended; lifting spirits and renewing hope and commitment. Apostle Hardin told those who attended that “Anguilla is a very special place, and God is just about to do something amazing here”. He stated that it was important for us to have such a spirit of unity between our churches that we all move as a combined unit to bring about rapid change. He also emphasised that our unity should come from our heritage and be recognised as distinctly Anguillian and not a copy of other societies.
The worship each evening was led by a united worship team and band from the churches represented at the conference. Among those present were: Christian Fellowship Church, Church of God Prophecy, Destiny Church, Wesleyan Holiness Church, Faith Evangelical Outreach Ministries, City of Faith Church of God, No Walls – Church of Hope, God’s Storehouse Ministries, Dominion Faith Centre, House of Prayer Church, New Life in Christ Ministries, Life Impact Centre, New Testament Church of God, Kingdom Citizens, New Beginning Radio and Apostolic Faith Church. There were also visiting ministers from the Apostolic Faith Church and David Company in St. Maarten; Shammah Deliverance Ministries in Tortola; United Kingdom Apostolic Ministries and Perpetual Praise Family Worship Center of the USA.
While the large numbers that attended the conference quickly filled up the parking lot, plans to increase parking space are underway to better accommodate large numbers at the JCRC in the future. The three-day church conference called “Catapulted Beyond” was deemed a success by all involved and hopefully is the first of many to be held at the JC Recreational Centre.
