Dear Mr. Editor:

WELL SAID, MR. BANKS

It is not my liking particularly to become involved in the political arena and I don’t think I am doing so now, since this week’s public forum was on the Framework for Fiscal Responsibility or whatever it may be called later.

I was particularly happy to see the number of people present and the interest they showed in the discussion. I think it was very welcoming to see the Opposition members among the crowd at the Government called consultation and to hear the Chief Minister addressing them as either his friends or brothers – I can’t remember which.

The main point of this letter is to say that the contribution to the discussion by Mr. Victor Banks was really to the point and enlightening. I wouldn’t bother with the person who afterwards commented that the length of the contributions should be curtailed – just to say something. It was necessary to go indepth with a matter like the FFR which is both technical and important to understand.

I think Mr. Banks did a brilliant job in his contribution and also in suggesting that the time had come to get on with the FFR.
