NEW MARKET REPRESENTATIVES FOR ANGUILLA TOURIST BOARD IN NORTH AMERICA TOUR THE ISLAND

candis 2 candisANGUILLA, B.W.I., March 12, 2013- The new representatives selected to handle the Anguilla Tourist Board’s North American marketing, Miami-based Cheryl Andrews Marketing Communications, are visiting Anguilla for a week long research and familiarization tour of the island.

The Cheryl Andrews Marketing Communications group met with His Excellency, Governor Alistair Harrison, Honourable Chief Minister and Minister of Tourism, Mr. Hubert Hughes, and other honourable members of the Anguilla Executive Council on Monday morning at the Executive Council Chambers in Old Ta.

Both the Cheryl Andrews Marketing Communications team and the esteemed members of the Anguilla Executive Council expressed high hopes for a mutually beneficial working partnership and a prosperous future for Anguilla’s tourism sector.

The team of nine Caribbean tourism marketing and public relations specialists comprises some of the most trusted and well-known names in the travel marketing industry, including agency president, Cheryl Andrews, who will lead the public relations efforts for the Anguilla Tourist Board, and The Travel Marketing Network President, Tim Grace, who will head the marketing and sales campaign.

During their week-long visit, the marketing and public relations specialists toured a cross-section of Anguilla’s accommodation plant, including Signature Resorts, luxury Villas and members of the island’s Charming Escapes Collection of hotels. Time was allocated for exploring some of Anguilla’s niche market experiences, including heritage activities, diving, nature trailing, bird watching, visiting historical and cultural sites, and enjoying Anguilla’s fine art galleries. The team also sampled Anguilla’s exquisite culinary offerings including casual and fine dining restaurants, as well as the laid-back vibe of Anguillian entertainment and nightlife.

“We are very pleased and excited to welcome the team from Cheryl Andrews Marketing Communications, and to accelerate the process of redefining Anguilla’s marketing strategy as per the guidelines of the Sustainable Tourism Master Plan,” Anguilla Tourist Board Director of Tourism, Candis Niles said. “The group is working hard during their visit to see as much of the island as possible, listen to the needs of the Anguilla tourism stakeholders, and integrate these first-hand experiences into their strategic planning for the further development of the island’s tourism sector.”

The visit of the CAMC team was coordinated by the ATB with the generous assistance of key strategic partners, the AHTA, the Government of Anguilla, the Governor’s Office, Calypso Charters, Anguilla Air Services, Anguilla Community College,Viceroy Resort, Carimar Beach Club, Altamer Villa Resort, Cap Juluca Hotel, Bird of Paradise Villa, Modena Villa, Paradise Cove Resort and Cuisinart Golf Resort and Spa, as well as a cross section of the island’s restaurants, including Tokyo Bay, Coba, Flavours, Le Bistro, Jacala, Straw Hat, Smokey’s at the Cove, Davida’s, Firefly, Blanchards, and Sandy Island.
