After nine years of service to the island of Anguilla, Mrs. Marie Walker, President of Turnstyle Marketing has resigned her position as Director of the Anguilla Tourist Board’s offices in North America.

Mrs. Walker took up office in 2004, and spearheaded the establishment of Anguilla’s first independent overseas office in Westchester, NY. During her tenure she oversaw a complement of seven staff members, including Heather McNeil, Monique Ruff-Bell, Camille Lang, Jackie Vickers, Amalia Watty, Leticia Young-Mohan, and Ania Gray. Additionally, in July 2007, she assumed responsibility for the offices of Anguilla Tourist Board – Canada, under the direction of Ms Dale Pusching, assisted by Catherine Butchart and Public Relations specialist extraordinaire, Martha Chapman, who spearheaded Canada’s highly successful media program.

“Our continued passion for the destination led to so many powerful events and accomplishments,” notes Mrs. Walker. “We remain proud of opening Anguilla’s first official tourist board office in North America; creating and launching the Anguilla Travel Connoisseur programme; realizing double digit visitor arrival growth for countless months from North America; mentoring 6 or more Anguillian students, many of whom have returned home to wonderful employment; significantly increased the awareness of the destination; capturing Anguilla’s USP (unique selling points) on broadcast through the Bachelor that aired on ABC and to date still has people talking about Anguilla; House Hunter’s International; Killer Beach Houses; created and launched Anguilla’s first literary festival with noted celebrity author Terry McMillan and Sheryl Lee Ralph; launched an Incentive Division Department; Canada Am Live from Anguilla and most recently the coveted cover of Enroute Magazine, the inflight publication of Air Canada Vacations.”

Mrs. Walker will officially cease representation of Anguilla on February 28th, 2013, at which time the offices of The Anguilla Tourist Board in Westchester and in Canada will also close.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors, staff and indeed our industry partners and the people of Anguilla, I would like to extend thanks and appreciation to Marie and Dale for the sterling representation they have extended to Anguilla over the years,” stated the Chairman of the Anguilla Tourist Board, Mr. Leslie Richardson. “Marie has always truly gone above and beyond her duties and her role to ensure that Anguilla was given the attention and recognition needed to cement its place as the Caribbean’s premier, exclusive, quality destination with a range of accommodations accessible to all. We wish to thank their staff, too, for their loyalty and dedication to Anguilla over the years. We wish them only the best in any future endeavours.”
