The Dungeon Gym & Fitness Centre on Saturday held its first monthly ‘Saturday Sizzler’ event.

This involved a variety of quick and intense in-door and out-door activities led by some of the top Dungeon Gym instructors.

Certified Fitness Instructor, Mrs. Marissa Hughes, says: “The Saturday Sizzler is to add some variety to your current training program and get you out of the rut of boredom – modified to provide benefit to different levels of exercise experience from beginners to advanced, and different intensities to ensure you get an effective, but safe workout.

“The monthly program promises to be exciting! It takes place at the gym’s premises, the last Saturday in every month. Best of all, the program is free to the public. You do not have to be a member of Dungeon Gym to attend.

“Our goal is to encourage persons to really challenge themselves with good exercise and to lead healthier and fit lifestyles. We’re also at a time in Anguilla where we keep hearing about persons developing type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and cancer. All of these can be combated with ‘regular exercise’.”
Mrs Hughes, who co-manages the gym, said: “Persons will also have the pleasure and privilege of receiving training on our obstacle course and be supervised by our elite trainers. Most of the exercises carried out during the ‘Saturday Sizzler’ do not even require use of gym equipment, therefore allowing those who attend the opportunity to learn some exercises they can do at home.

“As we progress monthly, there will be teams designated to add to the excitement and create a friendly competition. At the end of the year cash and membership prizes, and awards will be given”.
