The Anguilla Football Association [AFA] officially kicked off its 2026 Football Camp on Monday, July 6th, at the Raymond E. Guishard Technical Stadium, welcoming over 400 children from across the island for two weeks of football, learning, teamwork, and fun.
Running from July 6th to July 17th, the camp brings together young players between the ages of 4 and 17, creating a space for children of all skill levels to learn, grow, and enjoy the beautiful game. Sessions are being held Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the Artificial Turf Field and surrounding fields.
This year’s camp is one of the largest to date, reflecting the continued growth of youth football in Anguilla and the strong interest from children, parents, coaches, and the wider community. Participants are grouped across junior and senior age categories, allowing coaches to provide age-appropriate training, activities, and development opportunities.
Throughout the camp, children will be introduced to key football skills, including ball control, passing, movement, teamwork, and match play. Beyond the technical side of the game, the camp also places strong emphasis on discipline, confidence, communication, respect, and the importance of working together both on and off the field.
A major focus for Football Camp 2026 is goalkeeper development, with the AFA placing greater attention on helping young players who are interested in the position to build confidence, sharpen their skills, and develop a strong foundation in goalkeeping.
The opening day was filled with excitement as children arrived in their AFA camp shirts, participated in group activities, and began what promises to be an energetic and memorable two weeks. Coaches and volunteers were on hand to guide participants through drills, warm-ups, games, and team-building exercises.
The Anguilla Football Association continues to invest in youth development as a key part of building the future of football on the island. Through initiatives such as the annual Football Camp, the AFA aims to create more opportunities for children to be active, develop their talent, make new friends, and grow their love for the sport.
As Camp 2026 continues, the AFA looks forward to sharing more highlights from the field and celebrating the young players who are helping to shape the next generation of football in Anguilla.
