VISITORS STEP UP TO SUPPORT ANGUILLA LITTLE LEAGUE

Just days after a major equipment boost from Miami-based charity “Pitch In” Baseball, the spirit of giving surrounding Anguilla Little League continued — this time through the quiet generosity of visiting baseball enthusiasts who saw an opportunity to make a difference.
American-based father-son duo, Steven and Graham Hantz, recently added their own contribution to the growing programme, donating a collection of used baseball equipment while visiting nearby St. Martin.

Steven Hantz expressed both a personal connection to the sport and a genuine desire to support the young players. “We love Anguilla and baseball and would love to support the league,” he wrote.

The offer was not simply about clearing out spare gear. It reflected a broader appreciation for what the Anguilla Little League is building, as well as a recognition of the importance of access to equipment for young athletes.

The timing of the contribution is particularly significant. Following the recent influx of equipment from “Pitch In” Baseball, the Anguilla Little League has been steadily expanding its reach and resources. Additional donations such as this help to sustain that progress, ensuring that more young players have access to the gear they need to participate fully in the sport.

Beyond the tangible value of bats, gloves and clothing, gestures like that of the Hantz family highlight the growing visibility of baseball in Anguilla and the way in which it is drawing support not only from within the community, but from visitors who recognise its potential.

With preparations ongoing for regional competition later this year, including plans to participate in the Caribbean World Series in Puerto Rico in July 2026, the Anguilla Little League is steadily building both its resources and its reputation.
