Members of the Anguilla Culinary Team departed the island on Thursday, July 24th to participate in Grill Fest, a highlight of St. Kitts’ annual Restaurant Week celebrations. Held on Saturday, July 26th, 2025, at Frigate Bay Lawn, the event brought together culinary talent and food lovers from across the region.
The Anguillian team was invited by the St. Kitts-Nevis Tourism Board to participate as special guests, offering attendees a delicious taste of Anguilla’s signature grilled dishes. This showcase opportunity highlighted Anguilla’s rich culinary heritage and growing reputation as a Caribbean food destination.
Anguilla’s culinary ambassadors included Kelston “Chef Sweets” Connor, Jamal Hodge, Raven James, and Kendrick Richardson, accompanied by grill master Jermain Hodge; known for his passion and experience in grilling traditions. While Grill Fest features a competitive element with regional chefs vying for titles in categories like fish, chicken, pork, and lobster, the Anguilla team did not compete for prizes this year. Instead, they proudly represented the island as cultural ambassadors, helping to elevate Anguilla’s visibility on the regional culinary stage. They eagerly anticipate returning to the event next year as competitors.
Organized under the auspices of the Anguilla Hotel and Tourism Association (AHTA), the team’s participation aligns with the AHTA’s mission to support and promote local talent within the hospitality sector. The AHTA continues to create pathways for chefs and service professionals to gain exposure and build networks across the region.
Cherecia Lewis, CEO of the AHTA, was present at the Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport to see the team off. She shared her pride in the group’s role: “We are proud to support these talented culinary ambassadors who represent the very best of Anguilla’s food culture. The AHTA is committed to fostering professional growth and regional exposure for our hospitality talent.”
The Anguilla Culinary Team’s presence at Grill Fest demonstrated the island’s commitment to culinary excellence and regional collaboration.
