Anguilla’s National ITF TaeKwon-Do Team participated in the 38th USTC Red Tiger Cup held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on May 3–4, 2025. The tournament featured over 400 competitors from the U.S., Puerto Rico, Canada, Ethiopia, the Dominican Republic, and Anguilla.
Led by Team Manager Krystie A. Permuy and Coach Vidal Permuy, the Anguillian delegation included six junior athletes: Nassim Connor, Cyan Carty, Joden Henry, Haojun ‘James’ Tang, Eboni Hodge, and Malik Ashby; and one senior athlete, Simeon Olton.
The team achieved outstanding success, winning a total of 16 medals: 10 Gold, 3 Silver, and 3 Bronze across Individual Sparring, Individual Patterns, and Flying High Kick events.
Also in attendance was Gregory A. Permuy, President of the AXA ITF TaeKwon-Do Association, who traveled independently to support the team. Mr. Permuy, also an International Umpire, conducted the power break event at the tournament.
This outstanding performance would not have been possible without the generous support of our official sponsors: AXA ITF TaeKwon-Do Association Ltd., Nagico, Lloyd’s Aviation, Anguilla Crown Hardware, SolAire/Meads Bay Beach Villas, and Jean & Robert Donato. We are also deeply grateful for the unwavering support of Junie’s Car Rental, Kevin Bryan, Dionne Bryan, Navine V.A Fleming and the families and friends of our athletes.
The team’s accomplishments in Philadelphia mark a proud moment for Anguilla and underscore the significance of a supportive network
