Presentation to Ms. Canita Ruan (C)

Canita Ruan, daughter of Calvin and Anita Ruan of East End was the 2023 recipient of the Soroptimist Teacher Education Scholarship. She is a second year student at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia where she is studying to be an art teacher.

Canita was awarded the scholarship based on her personal recommendations from teachers as well as the academic success she has demonstrated.

The International Soroptimist Club of Anguilla has a one term scholarship available to an eligible female student who is studying to become a teacher. Any second year student who thinks she might qualify and is interested in applying for the scholarship is invited to contact a Soroptimist club member to obtain the necessary forms to complete the application process.

The Soroptimist Club is proud to offer the scholarship to Canita this year.
