ANGLEC Appoints New CEO and HR Manager

The Board of the Anguilla Electricity Company Ltd. ANGLEC, has appointed a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in Mr. Sutcliffe Hodge. Mr. Hodge will commence working in his capacity as CEO on Wednesday, 1st June 2022.

Mr. Hodge joins the ANGLEC team with over thirty (30) years of experience in management. He has progressed from working as a Computer Operator/Programmer in the United States to holding the executive position of Executive Vice President with Cable & Wireless (LIME) responsible for the Windward Islands.

Mr. Hodge’s skills and abilities include, but are not limited to: High Performance Orientation, Team Management and Strategic Management complemented with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and International Business.

Mr. Hodge assumes the role of CEO, taking over from CEO (Ag) Mr. Peter LaMontagne who served in the capacity for approximately two (2) years.

Newly hired Human Resources Manager, Ms. Carleen Gumbs remarked that, “Mr. Hodge has a passion for renewable energy, an area I believe ANGLEC should have already been championing in, so it’s encouraging that ANGLEC now has a CEO who is committed to that critical element of the company’s progress.

“Mr. Hodge also has a wealth of experience both in Anguilla and within the windward islands. His focus on performance orientation and more strategic alignment are also areas we look forward to seeing him apply to the leadership of our company.

“A manager is not always a leader, but we now have a new opportunity to really enhance the managerial skills within ANGLEC through someone I believe will be a strong leader and CEO, Mr. Hodge.”

Ms. Gumbs is also a new addition to the ANGLEC management team. She joined the company effective 1st February 2022, with over 15 (fifteen) years of experience in Human Resource Management. Ms. Gumbs is also fortified with a Master of Business Administration Degree in Human Resource Management from Columbia Southern University, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science (with a minor in Accounting) from New York Institute of Technology as well as many other vocational achievements.
