Dr. Cullen Mussington

On Monday, December 17, Dr. Cullen Mussington, a well-known Anguillian dentist, opened a new dental office – The Oasis Smile Centre – at the Hughes Medical Centre Complex, Lower South Hill. Dr.Mussington recently returned to Anguilla after pursuing advanced postgraduate dental studies in the United Kingdom. Before she migrated to pursue advanced studies, she worked with the Government of Anguilla and the Health Authority of Anguilla for over eight years.

Dr. Mussington served the Anguillian population as Dental Surgeon after having received her dental degree from the University of Wales, Cardiff, Dental School in 1995. In 2002 she was promoted to the post of Chief Dental Surgeon and continued to serve in that capacity until 2006. In September 2006 she left that post to pursue specialist training in Prosthodontics.

Dr. Mussington has extensive knowledge, training and work experience in Clinical Dentistry, having worked in the United Kingdom (for a number of years) where she is a registered Specialist Prosthodontistwith the General Dental Council. She worked in Birmingham and Cardiff Dental Hospitals as a Senior House Officer in several dental disciplines including, but not limited to, Oral and Maxillo Facial Surgery, Restorative Dentistry and Dentistry under Sedation. She was successful in gaining membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery from the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2001.
Her Specialist Training in Prosthodontics was obtained at Kings College University of London where the programme is heavily dedicated to clinical experience in fixed, removable and implant prosthodontics. During the course of her training, Dr. Mussington had the privilege of being involved in the management and treatment of patients with complex dental treatment needs, research, and clinical supervision of undergraduate dental students.

After she completed four years of postgraduate training at Kings College she was awarded a Masters degree in Clinical Dentistry – Prosthodontics. Additionally, after the completion of the specialist training, she was awarded the MPros (MRD) Diploma from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

The Oasis Smile Centre aims to be patient-centred specialist practice where patients can receive advanced dental procedures (using advanced dental technology and techniques) in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The Centre will be offering: Dental Implants, Crown and Bridgework, Aesthetic Dentistry with the provision of veneers and tooth whitening, conventional and implant retained dentures, as well as routine preventative (dental cleaning and advice), restorative (fillings and root canal treatment) and surgical (extractions) dentistry.

Dr. Mussington wishes to acknowledge the blessings of God during her studies and the commitment and unwavering support from her loving parents – Mr and Mrs Stanley Mussington. Her hard-working parents were always a source of motivation while she pursued her goal. She also acknowledges family members and friends whose encouragement assisted in making all of this possible.

The Oasis Smile Centre is committed to the holistic, comprehensive and personalised care of all patients, hence its location at the Hughes Medical Centre, a multidisciplinary medical and health facility at Lower South Hill.

Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm and Saturdays by appointment only.
