Tahirah Banks-Webster and Gino Webster of Thoughtful Digital Agency, attended the Earth X 2022 Congress of Conferences in Dallas, Texas, last week. The two connected with Private Sector & Public Service Leaders in Sustainable Development and Climate Action. Representing the interests of the Caribbean Region on the panels, Mrs. Banks-Webster led conversations with Ambassadors from the United Nations, Director Enoh Ebong of the United States Trade Development Agency, and Prime Minister of Sint Maarten, Silveria Jacobs.

Discussions focused on how developing sustainable partnerships help to both slow the effects of climate change and support adaptation in our communities. “We are very optimistic that through these new relationships we will be in a better position to contribute to the Sustainable Development of our Caribbean Communities,” said Tahirah Banks-Webster. “It was an enlightening experience, and we look forward to continuing these conversations – working together on solutions.”

The EarthX 2022 Congress of Conferences is the world’s largest environmental expo, conference, and film festival. It is led by the EarthX Organisation, an international nonprofit whose purpose is to educate and inspire people to take action toward sustainability.

Thoughtful, as an internationally recognised agency, has an internal mandate to empower sustainable business, community & people development. Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer, Gino Webster, used his platform at EarthX to highlight the need for improvements in technology development across the Caribbean, and soliciting the support of Conference Attendees for training programmes targeting youth and young adults in the Caribbean. Sharing insight on his conversations at EarthX Gino said, “People-focused technology is the answer to many of our challenges in the Caribbean, our young people need our support in this training, and members of the mature population need our support in retooling.”
Prime Minister Silveria Jacob of Sint Maarten, gave the Key Note Address at the Island Resilience Forum as a part of Earth X 2022. Sint Maarten, through their partnership with Nick Davis and the team at Grid Market, is leveraging deep data, artificial intelligence, and advanced analytics to deploy climate-tech solutions that support sustainable energy development.

Commenting on the Grid Market, Sint Maarten Relationship, Mrs. Banks-Webster remarked”
“At Thoughtful, a lot of our work is focused on how marketing and technology development can support the economic freedom of our Caribbean communities. It is difficult to make long-term decisions that support climate action or adaptation when you are struggling to provide the basic needs of your family. The cost of energy is outrageously high in our region. That in turn increases the cost of producing every other product or service. It makes it difficult to live. Sint Maarten’s work with Grid Market is exciting because it is pioneering a tech-smart approach to Sustainable Energy development. This is working in the Pacific and it will certainly work for us

Thoughtful is a Strategic Marketing & Technology Agency. Notable clients include: The Anguilla Tourist Board, Digicel Group, Decision Information Resources, The Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, The Global Coalition for St. Vincent, The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), The Anguilla Ministry of Health, The United Nations (ECLAC) and The Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States.
