In addition to its current offering of three weekly flights between the United States and Anguilla, American Airlines is set to expand the flights to include daily nonstop service between the two countries, Minister of Tourism, Mr Haydn Hughes announced at the government’s press briefing on Monday, April 4.
“Just to note, today, tomorrow, and every day in the future, we will see American Airlines touching down on Anguilla on a daily basis. This bodes well for us,” he stated.
The route was first launched back in December 2021, with the first-ever nonstop flight between the Miami International Airport and the Clayton J Lloyd International Airport, every Saturday. The Airlift service was later expanded to three days per week – Monday, Wednesday, Saturday.
“We are thrilled and delighted that American Airline is already incorporating additional service to our island, a testament to the strong demand for Anguilla and the premium tourism product that we offer,” said Stacey Liburd, Anguilla’s Director of Tourism.
“American Airline flights depart daily at 10:20 am out of Miami, arriving in Anguilla at 1:30 pm. The return service leaves Anguilla at 2:10 pm, arriving in Miami at 5:36 pm,” Minister Hughes noted at an earlier press briefing.
Speaking on behalf of American Airlines, Christine Valls, Vice President of Sales for Florida, Latin America and the Caribbean, said: “At American we have a strong commitment to the Caribbean and to continuing to strengthen our local footprint, now including almost 800 weekly flights to 35 destinations – and counting.
“We are proud to continue expanding our presence in the island paradise of Anguilla, offering daily service from our Miami hub.”
