The UWI Alumni Association – Anguilla Chapter (UWIAA) is issuing a call for nominations for the 2022 UWI Alumni Pelican Award. The Pelican Award is the highest honour that a UWI Alumni Association Chapter may bestow and is awarded to a Graduate of the University who has excelled in his/her chosen field and has had major positive regional, national or international impact, or who has contributed significantly to the development of the University, or has made an outstanding contribution to any of The UWI contributing territories in the Region.

In rare cases, a non-graduate who has contributed significantly to the development of the University or has made an outstanding contribution to any of The UWI contributing countries may be nominated. The Award may not be given to active politicians, nor may it be given posthumously.

According to President, Ms. Kemoloy Murphy, two Awards will be presented at the Alumni Awards and Julian R. Harrigan Scholarship Fundraiser scheduled for April 2022.
