Erasmus plus project participants

From December 26th, 2021, to January 4th, 2022, the Anguilla National Youth Council (ANYC), in partnership with Stowarzyszenie Proaktywne – Poland; Active Kosmos – Spain, Mastronauta – Italy; Belen – Turkey; Suncokret – Croatia; and Youth Flair – Cyprus; hosted an Erasmus plus project in The Valley, Anguilla, entitled, ‘Power Up Your Health’. The project focused on promoting healthy lifestyles amoung young people as well as encouraged the development of non-formal Education.

The project also promoted the exchange of culture where persons from Cyprus, Poland, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Croatia and Anguilla shared aspects of their culture in the form of food, dance songs and other means. This cultural exchange, and project, encouraged the unification of European countries and also stimulated a united approach to issues faced within the countries regarding health and wellbeing and education. There is no need to re-create the wheel when the experiences of others can be used to create solutions to issues that exist. Activities featured panel discussions, group activities, combat training, dance training, hikes, practical solution-oriented sessions and awareness activities.

The ANYC wish to encourage the general public to promote a healthier way of living. We also encourage youth and youth workers to join our network and become involved in our projects locally, regionally or internationally.

Lastly, and most importantly, the Anguilla National Youth Council would also like to thank the Anguilla Tourist Board, Fun time Charters, Roy’s Bayside Grill, Blanchard’s Beach Shack, IWAS, Gumbsie’s Car Rental, and the Department of Youth and Culture, for their support and contribution towards the hosting of this project. We hope to continue to foster partnerships towards creating sustainable living for all persons in Anguilla.
