The 2011 Caribbean Cycling Championships in Jamaica

Danny Laud, the only Anguilla cyclist to participate in the races held in Montego Bay on September 17th & 18th, recently returned to Anguilla.

In the individual time trial Danny placed 8th with a time of 42 minutes & 5 seconds, averaging 44km per hour over the 31km course, and was 52 seconds off the pace for contention of a podium spot.
The winners in the time trial were 1st place Martinique, 2nd place Curacao, 3rd place Puerto Rico.

The 113km race consisted of 10x 11km laps. Prior to the completion of the first lap Danny sustained a front wheel puncture that took him out of the main group of leaders and that later forced him to abandon the race. The winners of the road race were 1st place Martinique, 2nd place Puerto Rico, 3rd place St Martin (France national rider).

Danny would like to take this opportunity to thank those that made it possible for him to compete in these races:
