UWI OPEN CAMPUS ANGUILLA HOSTS WATCH PARTY FOR VIRTUAL GRADUATION CEREMONY

UWI OC Watch Party at Roy’s Bayside

Chancellor of The University of the West Indies (UWI), Mr. Robert Bermudez, officially conferred diplomas and degrees on some 877 Graduates from the Open Campus during a virtual Graduation Ceremony on Saturday, October 16, 2021.
Locally, The UWI Open Campus Anguilla celebrated its 36 Graduates with a special
“Graduation Watch Party” at Roy’s Bayside Grill.

Following the Ceremony, the Graduates were toasted by Manager for the British Overseas Territories Open Campus Sites, Dr. Phyllis Fleming-Banks; Chair of The UWI Open Campus Anguilla Guild of Students, Ms. Melissa Harrigan; and the new President of the UWI Alumni Association – Anguilla Chapter, Ms. Kemoloy Murphy. Ms. Murphy, who is the immediate Past Chair of the Guild of Students and a member of the Vice Chancellor’s UWI STAT Ambassador Corp, also graduated with a Masters Degree in Project Management.

Fourteen (14) other persons received Postgraduate degrees: Linette Carty, Erlyn Wilkinson, Rondy Isles-Carty, Kemoloy Murphy, Mavis Fleming, Amarlia Richardson, Kennisha Leveret, Julianne Leveret, Roslyn Forde, Rochelle Ward, Shanomay Young, Richard White and Kimberly Francis received Masters degrees in Management Studies, Project Management, Education and Educational Leadership, while Tameisha Ible was awarded the Graduate Diploma in Management.

Twenty-one (21) Graduands, including Anthea Connor, Melissa Lake, Soya Warde Williams, Bernice Edwards, Rosette Reid, Ana Bryan, Hydie Thomas, Cavelle Fleming, Sheila Hodge, Kenisha George, Deanna Bryan, Naomi Williams, Janelle Anthony, Dawvier Gumbs, Shantel Carbon, Sharon James, Yasheika Campbell Hunter, Zwinya Connor-Anderson, Violet Frank and Dorpha Seabrookes received undergraduate degrees in Accounting, Management Studies, Education, Social Work, Youth Development Work, Paralegal Studies and Human Resource Management.

Three (3) of the Postgraduates were awarded distinctions. Seven (7) of the undergraduates graduated with First Class Honours, including Ms. Anthea Connor who was applauded for being one of the five finalists for Class Valedictorian.

The UWI Open Campus Anguilla has expressed its appreciation to the management and staff of Roy’s Bayside Grill for their kind hosting of the Graduation Watch Party and to Gilbert Fleming (Gaf) for the set up.
The Virtual Graduation Ceremony will be rebroadcast on UWItv at www.uwitv.org on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. Eastern Caribbean time.
