On Wednesday, October 20th, Digicel observed its first anniversary since it introduced its premier Digital Operator (DO) apps last year. To celebrate this one-year milestone, the innovative telecommunications icon added two more trending apps, namely YouTube and TikTok, to its host of features.

The special anniversary ceremony took place at Digicel’s store in The Valley, and was streamed live on Lloyd Live. Direct Sales Supervisor, Nadica Rawlins, spoke with enthusiasm: “We are extremely excited to be celebrating our first anniversary as Anguilla’s Digital Operator. It has been a great year for our company, and we are truly proud of the impact that we have made in the market with our prime bundles.
“We provide our customers with the best LTE and broad band network, so that they can have speed and easy 24-hour access to our customer care. At Digicel, we do our best to answer chat queries in 10 seconds and calls in 20 seconds. We always act on our feedback and reward our customers for being a part of our Digicel family.”

General Manager, Ann Parles, thanked Digicel’s customers for their patronage, and noted that Digicel is no longer in the business of selling minutes or giving out megabytes, but that since a year ago, it has been in the business of delivering a digital experience every minute of every day.

“Our promise to our customers is ‘Simply More’,” she said. “We have translated this ‘Simply More’ message into a vibrant suite of content, entertainment and engagement packed apps. Whether you want to text or talk on BiP, or get the most up-to-date news on Loop, or watch the latest released movies on Play Go, or watch cricket of Sports Max, Digicel simply provides more.”

She said that more than 70% of Digicel’s customers are now using their prime bundles, and that Anguilla has the top market penetration of BiP and LOOP in the entire region. “Today we are excited to introduce our new apps, TikTok and YouTube,” Mrs. Parles claimed.

Consumer Sales and Digital Services Manager, Keithroy Proctor, said: “We are pleased to be celebrating one year since we have launched as Digital Operator with our new prime bundles. We realize that a phone is not just a phone anymore. It is a great necessity. And Digicel is not just a cellphone company, but we are a fully-fledged digital operator.

“Today, we want our customers online to celebrate with us by participating in our prize winning activity,” Mr. Proctor said. “We want to reward our customers with a series of prizes when we ask questions pertaining to our digital services. If you answer these questions correctly, you can win fabulous Digicel prizes. Besides, in our MY DIGICEL app, we will be giving out great prizes every day. Just go on the app and shake to win.”

Klass FM’s DJ Brown Sugar, moderated the prize giveaway by posing several Digital Operator related questions, giving Digicel’s online customers the opportunity to win. One in-store winner, Sara-Lee Benjamin, was lucky to win a DL Pro Handset simply by answering correctly and popping a balloon with a pin. Within the balloon was a tag with a description of her prize.
The Digicel’s store was filled with a spirit of celebration, and refreshments were served. Music was provided by DJ Stylez.
