ANGUILLA COMMUNITY COLLEGE WELCOMES NEW BOARD OF GOVERNORS

On Friday, October 1, 2021, the Anguilla Community College (ACC) welcomed its new Board of Governors with an orientation and site visit to the ACC Long Path Campus. The orientation was preceded by a short welcome session with addresses by the Honourable Premier, Dr Lorenzo Webster; the Minister of Education, Ms Dee-Ann Kentish-Rogers; and the President of the College, Dr Kenneth A Williams.

This was followed by introductions. The Board then met with the Premier, and the Minister of Education, for an orientation session which covered areas such as the History of the College and the Anguilla Community College Act, the College Mission and Vision, the Organisation and Operation of the Board and the Organisation of the College.

Her Excellency, the Governor, Dileeni Daniel-Selvaratnam, also joined the session and completed the campus tour with other officials and Board members.

This initial orientation session was a success with full attendance (one member attended via Zoom) and further sessions are planned.

The new Board was appointed effective September 15, 2021 and comprises the following:
• Dr. Ronald Harrigan – Chair and Education Tertiary
• Ms. Amethyst Davis – Education Planning
• Ms. Avern Gumbs – Business
• Ms. Sherise Brooks – Hospitality and Human Resources
• Mr. Delon Skellekie – Anguilla Youth Ambassador Corp.
• Ms. Leah Hughes – Finance
• Mr. Michael Bourne – Law
(• The President of ACC, Dr Kenneth Williams, is an ex-officio member of the Board.)
