Lion Ermine Edwards was a chartered member of the Anguilla Lions Club until her untimely passing. She faithfully contributed to the wellbeing of the less fortunate, particularly students, a service that was closest to her heart. In honour of her contributions to the Anguilla community and her commitment to Lionism, The Lion Ermine Edwards Scholarship was established to support the education of deserving students. Through this award, the Anguilla Lions Club continues the work of Lion Ermine and this year has awarded a student of the Orealia Kelly Primary School.
The recipient is a 1st Grader who will be sponsored by the Club until completion of his secondary education. The selection criteria required that the student be well behaved and demonstrated potential. Additionally, the parents must have demonstrated a keen interest in the child’s education as well as the work and life of the school. The Anguilla Lions Club congratulates the recipient – and best wishes for a successful school term are extended.
As the Anguilla Lions Club continues to offer valuable services to the community during its 40th anniversary this year, we are honoured to contribute to the development of our youth.
