The Valley- The Acting Minister of Education, Hon. Kenneth Hodge, on behalf of the Ministry and Department of Education, expressed congratulatory remarks to Tr. Patsy J. Adams on the publication of her latest literary work – Blow Away, a Collection of Anguillian Songs for Recorder and Voice. This is the 8th publication by the prolific poet, author, songwriter and playwright.
Blow Away – The Recorder Song Book, has been designed to share 50 songs, 41 of which are original compositions, 5 adapted tunes and 4 arrangements of well-known traditional songs. The songs are notated for recorder but can be used as vocal renditions at primary and secondary schools and in community groups.
In commending Tr. Patsy for her newest publication, Chief Education Officer Bren Romney, praised her for her thoughtful and visionary contribution to the development of music education and the preservation of our cultural heritage. He further noted that the author has combined her deep appreciation for Anguilla’s cultural heritage with her love for writing to produce this instructional music text for students at the primary and secondary levels.
