The Valley, 31st August, 2021 – The Department of Natural Resources (DNaR), in collaboration with the Department of Health Protection- Environmental Unit, is organizing an Island Wide Cleanup to commemorate World Cleanup Day, on Saturday 18th September, 2021. The aim of this activity is to clean up Anguilla by harnessing the support of incredible volunteers who share the vision of a waste-free world.

World Cleanup Day, is the world’s largest one-day civic action to engage countries to tackle the global waste crisis. The event is not just about cleanups, but also focuses on cooperation and collaboration: building bridges between disparate communities, and creating a waste-free environment by including all levels of society – from citizens to business, to government.

The Island-wide Cleanup Activity, themed- ‘Take The Pledge of Cleanliness: Clean Spaces & Create Happy Faces!’, is scheduled to commence at 7:30 am and end at 10:30 am. We are therefore inviting families, Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs), community groups, businesses and other institutions to participate in this voluntary activity. Volunteers are asked to complete the registration form and return it to the Department of Natural Resources- Environment Unit, by Friday 10th September, 2021 at 3:00 pm. Registration forms are available at the Department- Environment Unit, or can be made available electronically, upon request. Garbage bags will be provided to all participants.
