On Saturday afternoon, July 24th, some 51 Sixth Grade students of The Valley Primary School gathered at the school’s gazebo to receive presentations of laptops from then Parent Graduation Committee of the school.

The laptops and accessories were donated by businesses, and individuals in the community, to members of the Parent Graduation Committee who had worked hard and long to raise funds to purchase the equipment. During the graduation ceremony on June 30th, laptop computers and accessories were presented to only both the Valedictorian and the Salutatorian.

However, now the remaining 51 graduating Six Graders, apart from the aforementioned Valedictorian and Salutatorian, have likewise received a laptop, a printer, a sleeve/bag for the laptop, and a flash drive. These are all essential tools that would serve to make the students’ tasks in high school more manageable.

High notes of thanks and appreciation are extended to the many contributors who willingly made donations toward the worthy cause. Since last December, members of the Parent Graduation Committee had been making public solicitations, and a series of fundraisers were held to enable the accomplishment of this worthy cause.

The President of the Committee, Mrs. Charlene Roach, voiced her appreciation: “On the behalf of the Parent Graduation Committee, along with the Principal and teachers of this school, I wish to extend heartfelt thanks to the many kind sponsors in the business community of Anguilla. They, along with friends, families, individuals and well-wishers of the Class of 2021, have willingly come forward in response to our requests for aid in this magnificent venture.

“Without their unwavering support, we would not have been able to accomplish our goal of acquiring all this essential equipment for our students as they embark on their high school journey in September. Once again, we say a hearty thank you.”
