FOOTBALL SUMMER CAMP RETURNS

On Monday, 5 July, the Anguilla Football Association kicked off their annual football summer camp welcoming about 400 children. The camp is conducted in two sessions, daily, for the next two weeks, with youngsters 3 to 11 years in the morning followed by the 12 to 17 year olds in the afternoon.

The camp aims to expose youngsters to the sport of football, exploring various aspects of the game while having fun and giving them the opportunity to play lots of football.




During the two weeks of camp, the older campers will be engaged more in fun activity sessions that will help to foster possessing, passing, dribbling and shooting the football.

Furthermore, new to the camp activities this year is a focus on the area of goalkeeping. As such quite a few youngsters interested in goalkeeping will have an opportunity to learn the techniques of being a goalkeeper while, at the same time, having fun.

In maintaining the smooth running of the camp, the Anguilla Football Association has quite a number of coaches, young volunteers, including senior national team players to help in various areas of camp to give the children the best camp experience possible.
