Kerwyn Goddard is a 31-year-old Anguillian pilot with an ongoing and very pleasant personality and a popular young man in the community – known for his music with Infusion XL Band.
Just as he enjoys his music, so he enjoys flying with Anguilla Air Services.
It was mid-morning on Thursday, June 3, the day of the inaugural flight of Silver Airways to the Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport. As the arrival of that aircraft was being awaited, Kerwyn stood at the route to his parked Anguilla Air Services plane.
“Take my picture for The Anguillian newspaper!” he shouted to the Editor, starting a brief conversation.
“I am waiting for my passengers,” he said, when asked why he was he was standing there. The dialogue went as follows:
“How long have you been flying?”
“Three years with Anguilla Air Services.”
“Who are your relatives?”
“I belong to Shirlene Woods and Annie Goddard. I am from the Woods’ family. James Woods and Carmencita Woods are my people.”
“Where do you fly?”
“I fly between Anguilla and St. Maarten – or wherever my boss sends me. I will even fly to the moon if possible.”
“How do you like flying?”
“I like it very much and Anguilla is the best place on earth.”
“Where were you trained as a pilot?”
“In St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, with Cleophas Hodge [an Anguillian pilot, trainer and examiner].”
Apart from flying, the other things that Kerwyn enjoys include his energetic and appealing keyboard music and dancing with Infusion XL Band.
