Since being allowed back onto the construction sites following the recent 2 week Covid-19 lockdown all the contractors have been working hard to make up for lost time, including working over the recent long weekends.

The first, main, phase of the airport runway re-surfacing project at CJLIA was completed as planned and the contractor will return to Anguilla in June to finalise the runway surface grooving and painting to complete the project.

Renovations at Welches Polyclinic are complete and it reopened in May to members of the public. Work on the Valley Health Complex continues with completion now expected in mid-August 2021 at the latest.

Good progress continues to be made on first four packages of the brand new Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School in The Quarter.

Construction work at Adrian T Hazell, Morris Vanterpool and Valley Primary Schools continues with all three schools due to be completed and handed over to the Department of Education before the end of the summer, and to be operational in time for the start of the new 2021/22 school year.

The new Road Bay Jetty has been delayed slightly but is still due be operational before we hit the peak of hurricane season in early summer – and the on shore works will be completed as soon as possible after that.

Bids submitted for the contract to build the new Blowing Point ferry terminal are still being evaluated. The procurement process was interrupted by the recent C-19 lockdowns, and hopefully an announcement will be issued in early June 2021.
