In 2011, Viceroy Anguilla formally launched its Cross Exposure Training Program.   The program is designed to give our colleagues an opportunity to train and work within their specific department at other Viceroy properties.   The objective is to exposure colleagues to more established operations in order for them to benchmark and to identify best practices that they can institute within their local departments to drive greater effectiveness and efficiency.   High potentials, understudies to expatriates and colleagues in critical roles and require development are eligible for the program.

The 2012 participants are Leon Lake (Food and Beverage Manager, In Room Dining), Jasmine Welsh (Manager, Spa), Marah Gumbs (Resort Assistant Manager), Dadreen Tracey Richardson (Food and Beverage Manager, Sunset Lounge) and Kerry Harrigan (Manager, Retail).  Leon and Tracey report to Martin Kipping, Director of Food and Beverage.   Marah and Jasmine report to David Erlich, Executive Assistant Manager and Kerry reports to Jose Luis Flores, Director of Finance.

Leon Lake

Leon has been with the company for over 3 years.  He joined as an Assistant Restaurant Manager and was promoted to F&B manager in 2010.   Leon was attached to L’Ermitage in Beverly Hills.  During his attachment, he was managed by Drew Berry, Director of Food and Beverage.  Leon departed for his training on October 13th and returned to the island on October 28th.  Based on all accounts,Leon’s attachment was very successful.   The feedback from his host property highlights Leon’s passion for continued development and his “can do” attitude.

Jasmine Welsh

Jasmine joined Viceroy Anguilla as the Spa Supervisor in 2009.    She was promoted to Spa Manager in 2011.   Jasmine is completing her cross exposure training at Viceroy Miami under the supervision of Patrick Huey, Corporate Director of Spa.   Jasmine left island on November 3rd to begin her training from November 4th to 18th.

Marah Gumbs

In 2009, Marah joined the Resort as a Guest Service Agent.   Marah is completing her training at Viceroy Palm Springs under the guidance of Tom Coor, Assistant Front Office Manager.   She left Anguilla on November 2nd and will return on the 18th.

Dadreen “Tracey” Richardson

Tracey joined Viceroy Anguilla in 2011 as the Food and Beverage Manager of Sunset Lounge.   Tracey is also completing her training at Viceroy Palm Springs.   Her training will be supervised by Kelly Weiss, Director of Food and Beverage.

Kerry Harrigan

Kerry has been with the Resort since December 2010.  Prior to her current role as Retail Manager, she worked within the Finance Department.   Kerry will be completing her training at Seaside Luxe’s flagship boutique in Kona, Hawaiiin early 2013.   Seaside Luxe is the new retail buyer for the property.

Leon has set the bar very high for the participants in the Cross Exposure Training Program.  However, we expect all of our colleagues to excel during their training.    At Viceroy Anguilla, we understand that training is a prerequisite to success.
