Barrister-at-Law and Queen’s Counsel, Mr. John Benjamin, had a grand time on his 75th birthday on Thursday, December 10.

That’s when his faithful employees turned up at his scenic Little Harbour residence to celebrate with him, bringing him birthday and Christmas cheer.
Mr. Benjamin, who has not been seen in public for some time now, is ailing and remains at home. He is a well-known senior legal professional in Anguilla.
He is the CEO of Caribbean Juris Chambers which he established and owns at the Caribbean Commercial Centre as well as other property there. He is a former High Court Judge with the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court. He also served as a Magistrate, Additional Magistrate, Chairman of the Anguilla Bar Association, Commissioner of Oaths and Justice of the Peace.

The University of Birmingham-trained Lawyer was a popular Chairman of the Anguilla Summer Festival as well as Chairman of the Anguilla Tourist Board.

Mr. Benjamin and is a respected Jurist in Anguilla, the rest of the Caribbean and United Kingdom. In legal circles he is widely-known as having been both the producer of the former inter-active radio programme, Talk Your Mind, and the person who won the Privy Council case when his programme, sometimes critical of the Government, was stopped on Radio Anguilla by the then Chief Minister and Minister of Information and Broadcasting. It is one of the reference cases relating to freedom of expression.
Mr. Benjamin is grateful to various persons in Anguilla who think fondly about him, visit him, and offer their best wishes to him. He is also thankful to his employees at Caribbean Juris Chambers, Benjamine Group of Companies and Cube Credit Services for their thoughtfulness to celebrate with him.
