Mr. Javaughn Delaney has been inspired to create his own community outreach effort that would highlight his appreciation for select entities on the island. He has set out to show his gratitude through the creation of his organization called Creative Minds Anguilla.

On Thursday, December 3rd, Mr. Delaney visited the Orealia Kelly Primary School to make a presentation to the teachers. The presentation was a goodwill gesture, and came in the form of special treats at the island’s restaurants. Each teacher was given a chance to randomly pick a gift voucher from a box. This gave them the opportunity to dine at the restaurant of their pick.

Mr. Delaney is assisted in his efforts by Ms. Johnita Mahabil. Together they partner with restaurants and other businesses on the island to create appreciative gifts and make their presentations to worthy recipients involved in rendering education and sports services to the community.

Speaking about the background of Creative Minds Anguilla, Mr. Delaney told The Anguillian: “We started with this concept in June. Thus far, we have contributed to two female football teams; we have made presentations to the Amateur Netball Business League; and we have been working with the DOVE Centre. In addition to making presentations to teachers today, we have also made similar presentations to teachers at other primary schools.”

Apart from the teachers being presented with personal gift vouchers, Creative Minds also donated essential supplies to schools in general. Mr. Delaney said he has a heart for education and sports, in particular, and is doing whatever he can to make educators and participants in sporting activities feel appreciated.
