Mr. Hobson, a graduate of Texas Southern University in Houston, holds a BSc in Computer Science. Vowing to give back to the community that nurtured him, he returned to Anguilla in 2007 and took up employment as a Graduate Teacher in the Department of Information Technology at the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School.

Prior to his return home, Mr. Hobson gained valuable experience having worked with Fortune 500 Companies, Compaq Computers, Citi Group and Verizon Wireless. It is to this exposure that he attributes his unique combination of strong technical skills and ability to build lasting customer relationships.

Asked about his new post, Mr. Hobson had this to say: “I am taking on a new and exciting challenge in an enjoyable environment. I am working closely with the Registrar, Mr. Lanston Connor, in an increasingly responsible position which enables me to utilise my talents, and work with my colleagues in solving important problems.

“Currently, I am enrolled in the MSc Public Policy and Management programme at the Centre for Financial and Management Studies at the University of London. As a graduate of this pogramme, I will be even more prepared for the challenges in my post of Deputy Registrar…

“One of the island’s main sources of revenue is financial services. It is therefore imperative that this Department be managed effectively, promoted adequately and ready to adapt to inevitable changes in this global village in which we live.”
