Every year, The Anguillian newspaper, in cooperation with the Department of Youth and Culture, sponsors an outstanding media person in Anguilla.
The Anguillian takes pride in doing so for two main reasons. The first is that the Department of Youth and Culture is probably the foremost Government agency involved in youth development on the island – and has been able to turn around the lives of a number of young people. The second reason is that media houses are very important segments of Anguillian life and need to be appreciated and encouraged for the roles they play.
