EXPANSION OF UNEMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE

The Ministry of Finance is pleased to advise the general public that Executive Council has approved the expansion of the GoA Unemployment Assistance Benefit to cover persons who were unemployed or underemployed on or after October 1st, 2019.

Persons will be eligible to submit claims for unemployment or underemployment during the period April – December 2020. The benefit will be provided at the rate of up to EC$1000 per month for July to December.

For the period April to June, the benefit will be paid at up to EC$800 per month. Persons in need of assistance and who meet the eligibility requirements can therefore submit claims to the Ministry of Finance.

In accordance with social distancing protocols, we continue to encourage persons to submit applications online at beatcovid19.ai using any internet accessible device such as smart phone, tablet, laptop or PC.
Persons who are unable to apply online may also phone (264) 497 2547.

This assistance is provided for persons who have not contributed to Social Security or who have contributed to Social Security for less than fifty (cumulative) weekly payments. Persons who meet the requirements of the unemployment assistance benefit under the Anguilla Social Security Board Programme should continue to apply to Social Security at uassistance.ai

Persons are reminded that all applicants must be in Anguilla unless seeking medical assistance overseas.
