Pastor Howard Simon, a native of Antigua and Barbuda, has completed his first year in Anguilla, accompanied by his wife and their two daughters. He is the Senior Seventh-day Adventist Minister on the island, with responsibility for District 1, Mount Fortune and New Life, and is the overall Coordinator of the Ministry of the Church in Anguilla.
Speaking at Mount Fortune, on Saturday, September 12, Dr. Simon told the congregation: “It has been my honour and my joy to be working here on Anguilla. I pray that, as we continue to work together as a family, that God would bless us and ready us for His Second Coming.
“I want to thank God for one year of Ministry on Anguilla; the wonderful people with whom I work; and the wonderful people whom I have met. I received kindness and a wonderful experience from everyone I have met. And so, I want to give God the praise, honour and the glory for His blessings upon me.
“I have not made an enemy in Anguilla as yet and I don’t plan to make one either – whether individuals within the Church or outside of the Church. I love everyone in the Church and outside of the Church.
“May our love for each other continue to overflow again and again as God continues to bless us.”
Dr. Simon’s wife teaches at the Adrian T. Hazell Primary School. Their first daughter recently graduated from the Albena Lake-Hodge Comprehensive School. Their second daughter has now entered that school for the new academic year.
For the first time, the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Anguilla has two Pastors. The second Minister, who has responsibility for the work of the Church in District 2, in the western area of the island, is Pastor Lester Jules of St. Lucia. He is accompanied here by his wife and young daughter. He and his family have also been in Anguilla for one year so far.
