ANGUILLIAN COMPLETES PHD AT UNIVERSITY OF HONG KONG

An Anguillian young woman has made her homeland proud of her. She is Tonya Mason, who has just obtained a PhD degree in Environmental Epidemiology at the University of Hong Kong.

Dr Tonya Mason

Dr. Mason has been living in Hong Kong for eleven years with her husband, Matthew and three daughters. She is the daughter of Fay and David (Fuzzy) Brooks of Sachasses, Crocus Hill.
Prior to her PhD, the Anguillian scholar obtained a Master’s in Public Health, from Florida International University, and an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science from Maryland University, Baltimore County.

During her four years at the University of Hong Kong, she successfully published three academic papers in scientific accredited journals.

Her research work focused on evaluating environmental air pollution and population health impact. She has significant experience in conducting research, statistical analysis and data modeling.
The Anguillian scholar is a former Miss Anguilla 2001/2002 winner.
