The Anguilla Lions Club has a new Executive Board for the new Lionistic year 2020/2021.
On Tuesday July 7th, Lion Renford Kelsick MJF, who performed the installation ceremony, presented the gong and gavel to the incoming President, Lion Melissa Meade.
Pondering on the key components of Lionism – and through her experiences as a Lion for the past 10 years: Service, Comradery and Love – Lion Melissa will be guided by her theme “Empowered to Serve with Kindness and Love.” In her words, Lion Melissa expressed, “I am humbled, but more so honoured, to accept this position of the incoming President for this lionistic year 2020-2021”.
In her closing remarks, Lion President Melissa said, “I would like to thank the outgoing President and the Board Members for their dedicated service to our community. Over the coming year, let us continue to build on our strengths and take the Anguilla Lions Club on new and exciting directions – and be “Empowered to Serve With Kindness and Love.”
The remaining members of the Board are: first Vice President Lion Jocelyn Johnson; second Vice President Lion Gillian Artsen; Secretary Lion Ernie Hodge-Carty and Treasurer Lion Ann Gumbs. The Directors are: Lions Renford Kelsick, Celestine John and Bernadine Romney. Tail Twister is Lion Civilla Kentish; Tamer Lion Janice Hodge; LCIF Coordinator; immediate past President Natalia Lake; Membership Director Lion Tiffany Hughes and Leo Advisor Lion Shaynis Connor.
The Anguilla Lions Club is part of the world’s largest humanitarian organisation Lions Club International with a membership of 1.3 billion lions in 206 countries. Lions International focus areas include Hunger, Vision, Environment, Childhood Cancer and Diabetes. The Anguilla Lions Club continues to contribute to these areas in our local community.
The installation ceremony was witnessed by many other lion members, family and friends of Lions.
This was followed by a reception for those in attendance as they fellowshipped with each other.
