The Faculty of Sport at the University of the West Indies (UWI) is inviting journalists who are interested in Sport broadcasting, as well as Sport marketers, Sport publicists, Sport educators, retired professional athletes and sport enthusiasts to participate in an online Sport Broadcasting Workshop.
The 20 hour/four-week Training Workshop will be delivered through the UWI Open Campus Academy of Sport and facilitated by leading international Sport Broadcasters Alan Wilkins and Daren Ganga. Modules include: Principles of Sport Broadcasting, Sport Broadcast Ethics and Preparation for Live Commentaries, The Sport Consumer and Sport Live Broadcast Demonstration.
The Workshop is slated to begin on July 20, 2020, and is aimed at providing participants with sport broadcasting techniques for educating and entertaining diverse patrons through well-researched, exciting and culturally relevant commentary; critiquing sport commentaries and utilising technology to produce polished, accurate, professional and engaging sport broadcasts.
Successful participants will also receive a UWI Certificate of Participation with Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
