D.A.R.E. Programme 2020

The Royal Anguilla Police Force, in collaboration with the Education Department, has concluded their ten week Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E) Programme in all six of the island’s public primary schools. The programme, now in its thirteenth year, covered topics such as Peer Pressure, Basic Communication Skills, How To Make Responsible Decisions, Bullying, How to Avoid Risky Situations, The dangers of getting involved in violence, How to take charge of your life, Health, Legal and Social Issues as they relate to tobacco, alcohol and marijuana use.
The graduation ceremonies for all of the six public primary schools concluded on Thursday 28th May, 2020. During the ceremonies certificates were presented to each child who took part in the programme. Prizes were also awarded to deserving students in recognition of their participation and hard work.
At the end of the programme,the students were expected to complete two (2) assignments which were a report and a poster. The report was on what they learned in DARE that could help them to stay drug free and avoid violence, and how they intend to use the information to assist others. And the other was a DARE poster with a message against drugs and or violence. In each class a winner was chosen for each category.
The graduation dates as well as the winners for the various competitions were as follows:
