The Valley, Anguilla, March 4, 2020……The Anguilla Tourist Board (ATB) showcased Anguilla’s tourism product at the recent ANATO Trade Show, “La Vitrina Turistica,” which took place from February 26th to 29th in Corferias, Bogota, Colombia. Now in its 39th year, ANATO is the most important tourism event held annually in the country. Some 3,528 exhibitors and 5,200 national and international participants were represented at the show this year, a cross section of tourism authorities, hotels, travel services, airlines and other sectors of the travel trade. Over 25,000 industry professionals attended the show over the course of the three days.

The Anguilla Tourist Board delegation, led by ATB Chairperson Donna Daniels-Banks, included Jameel Rochester, Manager, Corporate Affairs (Ag.) and Raquel Echandi, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Latin America.

The ATB continues to promote Brand Anguilla in the Colombia marketplace as well as in select, key markets throughout the rest of Latin America, as “The Best of the Caribbean,” a joint marketing campaign with neighboring destinations Saint Martin and Sint Maarten, with the support of COPA Airlines. Access and proximity make this market potentially an extremely convenient one for Anguilla, as in less than four hours, visitors from Columbia can reach the island and enjoy our many attractions.

The ATB team enthusiastically shared the good news of the record number of tourist arrivals for 2019, and expressed confidence in the island’s continued success, based on the quality experiences, attractions, and resorts that make Anguilla’s product truly exceptional. Chairperson Daniels-Banks also spoke to the government’s plans to introduce a Visa online process in the near future, a development that would be welcomed in the Columbian market and would certainly help to increase visitor arrivals from the region.
